Congrats to Ava, who not only was accepted into th Congrats to Ava, who not only was accepted into the Royal Society of Portrait Painters’ Annual Exhibition in London, but also received the de Laszlo Foundation’s “Highly Commended” Award! She is in Connecticut, finishing her last month of college, but Celia is now living in London so she and artist friend Leo attended the opening. When they called out the award, the announcer said that Ava wasn’t there… although her sister Celia was. They have no idea how they knew who she was and that she was among the crowd, but Celia accepted the award for her sister. What a serendipitous moment and a wonderful honor for Ava. Two spots just opened up for Rob’s two-week Engl Two spots just opened up for Rob’s two-week England workshop this August! Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Dedham Vale, one of the UK’s official Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and just a short trip from London, this inspiring region has drawn painters like Gainsborough, Constable, and Munnings. Classes will be held in the historic Assembly Rooms of Dedham, an elegant eighteenth-century venue that once hosted gatherings reminiscent of the Jane Austen era.
