ENGLISH WORKSHOP ACCOMMODATIONS, AUGUST 2023

Some links of places within walking distance are listed below but we also recommend using airbnb (great to share with roomies and most have liberal refund policies) or other sites including Expedia, Green Traveler,  Booking.com , and VRBO. On Airbnb there are also private rooms within homes in Sherborne and even an option to divide your stay between two places. We will be happy to help students find roommates with other participants. It is best to reserve ASAP.


Walkable (in Sherborne town centre)

The Cross Keys – boutique pub with 4 ensuite rooms (includes a family suite); very central.  

The Plume of Feathers – pub with 4 ensuite B&B rooms (list prices shown), some with Abbey views; handy for town.  

Half Moon (Marston’s Inn) – value pub-with-rooms right by the Abbey/market; simple and central.

The Eastbury Hotel & Spa – upscale, quiet gardens; good for a few students who want a “treat” stay.

The Hillbrook Hotel & Spa – newish boutique option in town; modern rooms, some kitchenettes (useful for 1–2 weekers).  


5–10 minutes’ drive (quiet village bases)

The Grange at Oborne – country house hotel, 18 rooms; reliable choice for multiple students; ~1–2 miles from town.  

The Queens Arms (Corton Denham) – 10 stylish rooms plus a 2-bedroom cottage (great for two students sharing); ~3 miles.  

Budget chains (good availability for groups, ~15–20 min by car in Yeovil)

  • Premier Inn – Yeovil Town Centre – predictable, clean, easy for single rooms; rail/bus access nearby.  
  • Travelodge – Yeovil Podimore – basic, parking; often good rates for week-long stays.  
  • Pen Mill Hotel (Yeovil) – independent, well-reviewed, near Yeovil Pen Mill station (handy for arrivals).
